Curriculum Vitae

Xibo Ma is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. She has been serving as a professor since October 2018. Over the years, she has been dedicated to research in AI for Science, forming a research system with theoretical algorithms, intelligent systems, and the application of AI in the field of science as its core. In recent years, in-depth research has been conducted on the development of multi-modal artificial intelligence algorithms and systems, interdisciplinary autonomous evolutionary intelligence, and their applications. She has published high-level SCI papers and papers in artificial intelligence conferences, including those in Nature, Nature Commun., IEEE TMI, and AAAI, as first or corresponding author.

In terms of system development, she has developed an animal behavior recognition system for drug safety evaluation, which has been tested in multiple companies. In bionic intelligence, she has developed a bionic octopus hand, which can be used for physical measurement in dark environments and flexible operation in human-machine interaction scenarios. She holds over 20 authorized patents in related areas, with over 50 SCI-indexed papers as first or corresponding author, including 16 papers with more than 10 points. She has undertaken multiple projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation Youth, General Program, Major Projects, National Key R&D Program, the Youth Innovation Promotion Association of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, major scientific research equipment and instruments of the Academy, and the A project of the Academy. She was named an outstanding member of the Youth Innovation Promotion Association of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2019. She currently serves as the Secretary-General of the Medical Imaging and Equipment Special Committee of the China Graphics Society and a member of the Medical Simulation Special Committee. She has won one gold award at an international invention exhibition, one gold award at the Geneva International Invention Exhibition, and has participated in the compilation of two standards.
