On August 19, the 2023 China Computing Power Conference was held in Yinchuan, Ningxia. At the conference, our Laboratory of Brain Atlas and Brain-inspired Intelligence received two major honors in the field of brain-inspired computing systems: the “Best Academic Paper of the Conference” and the “Youth Pioneer” award.

Brain-inspired intelligent computing is an important direction leading the future development of artificial intelligence. Our lab, in collaboration with Xi’an Jiaotong University, won the “Best Academic Paper” award for the study Attention Spiking Neural Networks. This research integrates attention mechanisms into million-scale spiking neural networks, achieving significant performance improvements while greatly reducing energy consumption, offering new ideas for developing low-power neuromorphic systems.

The corresponding author of the above paper, Researcher Lory to architecture to system-level hardware-software co-design, proposing large-scale spiking ni Guoqi from the Laboratory of Brain Atlas and Brain-inspired Intelligence at the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was named a 2023 China Computing Power Conference “Youth Pioneer.” Researcher Li has focused on brain-inspired computing from theeural network models and algorithms that are both biologically plausible and computationally efficient. His work addresses technical bottlenecks in deploying spiking networks on brain-inspired chips, providing new insights for the development of future brain-inspired computing systems.

The 2023 China Computing Power Conference was jointly organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the People’s Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. With the theme “Leading New Industry Trends with Computing Power, Empowering High-Quality Development,” the conference aimed to advance fundamental research in computing power and related fields, continuously inspire outstanding young pioneers, exemplary practitioners, and industry drivers, and build a platform to showcase and exchange new technologies, applications, and models.
