Current clinical diagnosis of psychiatric disorders relies primarily on interview-based symptom reports. However, extensive studies indicate that symptom information alone is insufficient to guide effective treatment. This talk explores new diagnostic and therapeutic pathways for psychiatric disorders from a precision-medicine perspective. We will present EEG-based predictive biomarkers of treatment response, enabling identification of patient subpopulations likely to benefit from specific interventions.
On clinical translation,we will integrate the biomarker platform with new-drug clinical development, prospectively validating patient-stratification biomarkers tailored to each candidate therapy, with the aim of improving success rates in psychopharmacological R&D and advancing the application of precision medicine in psychiatric care. The talk will also discuss key challenges in AI-driven biomarker discovery and identification.
